Winter offsite at Foster Farm: slow down to speed up

Winter is often perceived as a hollow season. However, in nature, it is a strategic period: flora and fauna protect themselves, reorganise, and prepare for a powerful restart. At Foster Farm, 15km from Brussels, we choose to fully embrace this season to host winter offsites aligned with more natural rhythms.

Winter: a key season to slow down and refocus

Contrary to popular belief, winter is often more fertile than the 'active' seasons. For nature, it is not a pointless pause. On a human and professional scale, it is the same.

Winter and its soft light, calm landscapes, fire, warmth, naturally create conditions favourable to quality exchanges:

  • Less distraction, more presence
  • Slower rhythms, conducive to listening and reflection
  • A more intimate setting, which fosters cohesion

Why organise a team offsite in winter?

A winter offsite allows you to step away from the daily routine to think differently, without the pressure of immediate performance. Agendas are a little less packed, the energy is different, more introspective. It is a season conducive to taking a step back, assessing the situation, clarifying a vision, aligning a team

A winter offsite allows you to step outside the framework and make use of the season by organising:

  • more targeted strategic meetings
  • clearer assessment or vision sessions
  • coworking in a very peaceful atmosphere

This season often allows for more availability, more logistical flexibility and an increased focus on teams. Foster then becomes the place for moments of reconnection between colleagues who come to prepare for the year with more clarity and purpose.

Foster Farm: an offsite location aligned with the rhythms of life

Located in Walloon Brabant, Foster Farm is a pilot farm designed to host human, professional, and collective projects in a sustainable setting. In all seasons, and always on a human scale, Foster invites us to rethink how we work and how we meet.

This logic is concretely reflected in:

  • our rental spaces, which prioritise calm, warmth, real presence
  • a site that operates in near energy self-sufficiency
  • producers who work with the rhythm of the earth

These ways of preserving our resources, both literally and figuratively, provide a coherent framework for reflecting, deciding, and creating together.

The winter guinguette, creating social warmth when nature slows down

When the outside becomes quieter, human connections can strengthen. The winter guinguette was born from this simple idea:

  • a renovated barn, with a rustic atmosphere and no frills
  • privatisable for up to 80 people.
  • ideal for an offsite, a team meeting, or a moment of getting back to nature

We gather around long tables, in soft light, sometimes sharing a raclette. Winter then becomes a conducive setting for sincere exchanges, new ideas, and thoughtful decisions. Discover it in all its facets, here
