FOSTERRIENS

Meet the Fosterriens

|

The Fosterriens are a contraction of Foster and "Terriens". It represents the community of Fosterriens residing in Foster: market gardeners, craftsmen, companies, but also all the people who come to spend a day or an evening in Foster.

They share the same values as Foster: simplicity, friendliness, authenticity, sustainability, and a genuine passion for the land and the pleasures of the table.

Both the interior of the farm and the surroundings are invitations for exchanges among the Fosterriens: curiosity, expertise, meals, tastings, new collaborations, discovery workshops, walks, terraces, coffee breaks, and aperitifs.

The list of shared moments is already long, and yet we are only at the beginning of the story. Over a drink, a coffee, or an impromptu lunch, exchanges intertwine, ideas flow, and recommendations come naturally. We discover our neighbour's profession, share a challenge, and propose a solution. An informal conversation becomes a meeting. A meeting becomes a collaboration. A collaboration becomes a lasting partnership.

It is this alchemy that gives Foster its strength. A place where we celebrate, where we share, where we laugh — but also a place where business synergies are born with ease, because trust and closeness are already present.

At Foster, friendliness is not an added bonus. It is a driving force for development.

Les Fosterriens partagent les mêmes valeurs : la simplicité, la convivialité, l'authenticité, la durabilité, la passion pour la terre et pour les plaisirs de la table

THE MOMENTS OF CELEBRATION

Life in Foster is marked by the seasons and moments of celebration: the arrival of spring, the launch of a new beer, Saint Nicholas Day, Epiphany, Christmas, the start of the school year, the tasting of artisanal croquettes from Croquettes Food Factory, the selection of wines Gudule for the new season, the inauguration of a new space at La Guinguette, the broadcasting of the radio or television, the visits of journalists, the reception of the delegation Slow Food – Slow Farm…

Here, every occasion is a good reason to get together.

Every week, something happens at Foster and gathering around the large table on the terrace or in the Abreuvoir is always a pleasure. These moments are not just simple friendly interludes: they are the beating heart of the Foster community.

THE FOSTER AFTERWORKS

Much more than just drinks. Since the launch of Foster, we have been organising drinks evenings to introduce Foster and its Fosterians to the rest of the world.

At each edition, a theme is launched, an artisan and their products are highlighted, and we meet at the Guinguette and at the Abreuvoir: our residents, our clients, our suppliers, the clients of our residents, our dear and local neighbours… A deliberate, open, vibrant mix.

The formula is simple and friendly: everyone is welcome and the first round is on the house.

But behind this simplicity lies something more powerful. These afterworks are crossroads of energy and opportunities. People come to share a drink… and often leave with an idea, a contact, a project. Conversations intersect, expertise is discovered, worlds meet. An artisan finds a new distributor. A consultant meets a future client. Two entrepreneurs realise they can respond together to a tender.

Here, networking is not a strategy. It is natural.

STEPHANIE AND HER FLORAL FARM

Stéphanie de Bellefroid, creator of Capucine à table, has settled in Foster to cultivate her range of aromatic herbs and edible flowers with delicate fragrances. She supplies the top chefs in Belgium, including the chef of Màloma based in Foster.

Her productions are for sale on the lands of Foster. She also organises visits and workshops for individuals. Her workshops are of course part of our "Made in Foster" team building activity catalogue.

JEAN-PIERRE THE BEEKEEPER

Jean-Pierre, the resident beekeeper, takes care of the colourful hives and the bees delight visitors with honey and mead.

To encourage the pollination of the various flowers, herbs, and crops at Foster, we are still looking for beekeepers willing to set up their hives and swarms in the middle of the estate.

We also offer in our"Made in Foster" activities brochurea guided tour of the hives in complete safety.

GABRIEL AND HIS DYE GARDEN

Gabriel Beaulieu cultivates a dye garden where the main plant is the indigo persicaria - the natural pigment that forms the basis of this unique blue found in jeans.

It is possible to visit or take a course at the gardens to learn more about the cultivation of dye plants. Gabriel's plants are used both for dyeing fabrics and for making vegetable inks for drawing.

Gabriel's workshops are offered to companies spending the day in the green at Foster.

OSAN DRINKS

The Osan are quality plant-based dynamisations made solely from plant and floral products, organic and seasonal. The Osan represent an ideal festive non-alcoholic alternative for aperitifs, as an accompaniment to dishes, or during brunch.

And it is in Foster that they are produced. They are displayed in all the spaces, providing a refreshing break or a gift idea.

FORGE FERDINAND

Cédryc Henry de Frahan, Artisan Grinder - Sharpener, founder of Forge Ferdinand, has set up his forge and workshop in Foster. He highlights the ancestral art of knife creation and sharpening.

A know-how passed down from his great-great-grandfather, a rich and inspiring family story to discover during visits to Foster or during his Nomadic Grinder stops!

Displayed in theDrinking Trough, the beers Bertinchamps delight beer enthusiasts. They vary with the seasons and are available by the glass, on tap, or in bottles.

CLOSE PROXIMITY TO END CONSUMERS

The Artisans of Foster have the opportunity to sell their products on-site to Foster residents as well as to the general public.

Foster also organises activities showcasing local products, inviting the general public to discover the home-grown expertise.

LOGISTICS & SECURITY ASSURED

Close to 2 exits of the E411, Foster makes every effort to facilitate the logistical aspects for resident artisans.

Accessibility to the urban and industrial areas of Brussels and Brabant is optimal.

A concierge ensures security, reception, and cleanliness of the surroundings on site.

COOPERATION WITH OTHER RESIDENTS

The artisans also share energy, water, and gas infrastructures with all residents, thus limiting their own investments.

Food businesses joining Foster have the opportunity to benefit from products grown on site and from professions active in the ecosystem.
